External Moots
External moots are competitions held by other universities and organisations in which the Society sends a team to compete. Many of these moots provide the opportunity to debate legal topics before members of the judiciary or the bar and so offers an unrivalled chance to not only demonstrate spoken advocacy but also kick start the participating mooters' careers as advocates. The Senior and Junior External Moot Coordinators are responsible for registering and preparing teams of mooters to compete in external competitions.
There are a number of external moots for which the Society prepares mooters to participate, in the past University of Aberdeen mooters have successfully taken part in national and international level moots such as the Scottish Inter-Varsity Lord Jones Mooting Competition, Monroe E Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, OUP and ICCA National Mooting Competition, Inner Temple Mooting Competition, BPP's Advocate of the Year Competition and the ESU-Essex Court Chambers National Mooting Competition, amongst many others.
